Thank you, Gavin, for all of your support and advice for the past few years. It was an honour knowing you and making me feel part of the family. Was great chatting with you about cars. Definitely going to miss those chats.
But you're in a better place now.

Shuseki Shihan Gavin Lowe, a true karateka, friend and beacon of light, who departed from this world on October 27, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Shuseki Shihan Gavin walked through life with a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone he encountered with an unforgettable grace. He dedicated his time and resources to making the world a brighter place. A lover of the martial arts, specifically Seido Karate Dō and its underpinning philosophy, Shuseki Shihan Gavin found beauty in life's simple moments and encouraged us all to do the same.

A highly respected mentor in our industry, for so many people, over a lifelong career working in refrigeration and air conditioning. His legacy continues, not only in the diaspora of talent to the wider industry, but also in the business which bears his name. Opening the doors to his start-up at 60, realising that retirement was not for him, it has flourished over the past 30 years, built on his own personal values of honest advice and quality work. He was so proud of the company it is today, and his values which we continue to uphold. There is no better way to honour him. Rest in peace Gavin, from all the team at Gavin Lowe Energy Christchurch, Gavin Lowe Energy Timaru, and Gavin Lowe Electrical.
