I have been thinking of Uncle Gavin a lot since hearing of his passing. Although he had a life well lived, the nature of his passing was a shock. I have many fond memories of Uncle Gavin and his rugby chat. I remember him kindly taking me to a number of Crusaders games over the years at the old Lancaster Park. Sometimes I'd sit with him, other times I'd be on the bank and he'd meet me at the carpark for a lift home. He would have been a great commentator; I always knew what was going on. I hope he knew the Crusaders got their first win of the season before he passed away. I'm glad that Gavin was able to spend time with his family before he passed away, and I'm sure that will be comforting to everybody down the line. My thoughts are with Aunty Fra, Marianne and Richard, and all those who loved him.

Sincere sympathy to you dear Frances and family.
Brother Bill knew Gavin better than I, he is to have a hip operation on Thurs. otherwise would have attended Gavin's funeral. I have fond memories of you both and especially of Gavin's big smile and the interest he took in our Mother's link with the Beere family. Love Marg.
