Frits......You were always a breathe of fresh air on your regular haircut sessions at The Groom Room.

To the family of Frits,
I remember Frits from my school days at St Joseph´s and St Bede´s. He was always a good friend, with a sense of loyalty and kindness. I have not seen him for many years and it saddens me that having recently returned to Christchurch it was on my agenda to track him down and reconnect. Sadly that will not happen. My thoughts are with you his family at this time.

Dear Sandy and Family,

Frits and I grew up as neighbours between the ages of 4 and 10. We started school on the same day. When his family moved our paths did not cross often but I have not forgotten our early days. Having retired in the last year, I intended to see him again. Only last week I saw the Knitworks sign on what had been his factory. The family trade had been his life's passion.
Too late to catch up but not forgotten. Our family's sympathy go out to his in this sad time. Frits, tot ziens.

Firstly, my condolences to a family with special DNA. I had the great please of meeting Frits on two occasions. First a homely coffee and chat. The second featured sharing my favourite beer and Frits relaxing in his lycra, before taking in some live sport, Sail GP, in prime "Dutch stadium" long-grass Lyttelton harbour seats. I clearly saw that Frits was indeed an awesome bloke, friend, father, husband and Opa.

So sorry to hear of Fritz's passing, kind thoughts to all the family from the Simons Family.
