One of the last ones standing, passed away peacefully in Christchurch Hospital on Wednesday, February 25, 2026; aged 103 years. The engine has finally stopped. Much loved husband of the late Noelene, and father and father-in-law of Yvonne and Hal Baker, and Ian Jackson. Son of the late Emily and William Jackson, brother of the late Archie, Phyllis, and Norman Jackson. Adored grandad of Simon and Natalie Baker, Adam and Katarina Baker, Paul and Melany Baker, Dan and Tanya Jackson, Alice Jackson and Karl Simpson, Sophie Jackson and Steven. A celebration of Fred's life will be held at the Waimate A & P Shears Pavilion, 26 Hakataramea Highway on Monday, March 9, at 1.00pm followed by an interment alongside Noelene in the Waimate Cemetery. Special thanks to all those health professionals who provided wonderful service and care, and also to Jenny for the tremendous love and support shown to Fred.
