Fred BERTRAM Obituary

Passed away peacefully at home in Sydney on August 28, 2025. Most beloved husband of Pamela, father of Emily and Abby, grandfather of Annie and Finn. Beloved son of Manfred (dec) and Jennifer. Much loved brother of Nicholas, Corinna and Joff. Fred was loved and admired by the many people that he met and was a mentor, advisor and friend to many. It is with great sadness that we
say goodbye to such a wonderful person and we are all so happy and enriched that he was part of our lives.

I'm shocked and saddened by this news. Fred greatly assisted me early in my career and I was always stuck by how honest and straight forward he was. RIP.

I am so sad to Fred is no longer with us. Fred was a leader like no other in the corporate world, reaching down to all levels in his team, he made people feel truly heard and valued and he backed them, gaining him a huge loyal following and respect of the highest magnitude. Fred is by far the funniest leader I've worked with and through his unconventional ways, he pushed the boundaries, making him also one of the most courageous. I am so incredibly grateful I had Fred as a boss and later as a dear friend.  Fred was the absolute best, he leaves a very important legacy, setting so many people up in their careers, he'll never be forgotten.  Pamela, and I am thinking of you and your family, sending love and my condolences.

I am so sad to hear this news. It was a privilege to have known and worked with Fred and to have called him a mentor. He was an inspirational role model and leader, a lot of fun, and could be guaranteed to give a unique take on any situation. I still reflect on his advice and wisdom frequently, even though it´s many years since we last spoke. Thank you for your wonderful contribution to the many people you have worked with and left an impact on. What a great legacy to have as a leader. My thoughts are with his family and friends. May they gain comfort in knowing the depths of love and respect that he engendered in those who were privileged to work with him.

Fred made an outstanding contribution to ANZ in India when all of us were doubtful about offshoring! He was an effervescent and genuinely helpful person over my time with him in NZ, Australia and India. May he Rest in Peace.

In total disbelief at Fred's passing. We lost touch over the years bit he was one of my dearest friends back in the 80s. So many wonderful memories. Sending love to Fred's family.

A very positive and energetic influence on my formative years. Fred made things happen, stepped up and did it with a cheeky grin while burning the candle at both ends. Wish we'd stayed in touch.
