We have such happy family memories of Frank, from way back when in the days of the Young family in Crosby Place when Steven (Dibble) and Lyndy were teenagers, through family parties and quick visits when you guys holidayed up here in Golden Bay.
Frank was always a larger than life character - so funny and quick witted, sharp and clever with a heart of gold. A real family man - so loving and proud of Wendy, George and Max - they're an amazing unit - with some special brand of "family glue", rather like the Murisons.....ahem... It always felt like our families walked side by side.

To Wendy, George and Max, and Frank's wider family... so very sorry to hear of your loss. I am an older cousin of Frank, and spent lots of time in my young years at his family home where I recall some amazing dinners and hospitality. Although not having spent a lot of time with Frank , I always thought he had such a love of life, his family and his passions. Admired his sense of humour, ability to laugh at himself , family values and (whilst brutal at times) honesty. We need more Franks in our lives; it´s devastating to be down one and are trying to find comfort in knowing that he will be continuing to bring the same to his next life. To the Young and Thompson families, whilst so difficult to comprehend , you were so blessed to have Frank in your lives and I am so sorry for your loss. Georgina

My sincere condolences to the Young family for the sudden passing of Frankie. He was a great squash mate back in the day and I often remember us Linwood lads getting feeds off him and Steve at the Woolston working men´s club and at his Chinese takeaway in Stanmore road back in early 1980´s. He was also my go to man for fixing up many of my plastering cockups . His catch phrase being " what the hell have you done budge" and mine being "nothing you can´t fix Frankie".
Rest in peace
