Francis Thomas "Frank" DOOLEY

Francis DOOLEY Obituary

On Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Westport. Aged 70 years. Cherished husband and best friend of Josephine (Jo), much loved and respected Dad and father-in-law of Shannon and Tahlia (Auckland), Anna and Jacqui (Westport), and Erin and Alex (Christchurch), adored and fun-loving Grandad of Blair, Drew, Ethan, Lucy, Fergus and Grace, dearly loved brother, brother-in-law, and uncle of his many nieces and nephews. A staunchly passionate member of the Buller community and friend, mentor, and supporter to many, we have lost a great man.

"Because that's what kindness is. It's not doing something for someone else because they can't, but because you can."

To Jo and family our sincere condolences on the loss of Frank. Some people pass from our memories but Frank´s will last indelibly. Firstly as a client and secondly as a good friend. Business was just an excuse to get together and chew the fat over life´s challenges including in particular everything that was wrong with NZ Rugby - from team selections to coaches to governance- one never died wondering about Franks opinion! A good man who had a total community focus and who´s work ethic and preparedness was second to none. Rest in peace Frank. You will be sorely missed by everyone you touched Stewart & Gwen Mitchell.

Hi Jo and family. Our condolences to you all and particularly you Jo. Some great memories of Frank when our children were young and of course ... listening to Franks comments to refs at rugby games. Also a great supporter of Westports RFC and a respected player. I do wonder who he is going to get stuck into now? Our love Ross and Suzette Qld.

Dear Jo and family, it was a shock to here of Frank's passing. I first met him 22 years ago as a city slicker from Bancorp and forged a great working relationship and friendship. He was a top bloke and will be sorely missed. Thinking of you at this sad time Earl
