Frank and I go back to 1942 to when we met at Christian Brothers High School Dunedin and we both joined the Celtic United Harriers joint owners with a few schoolmates in a 1932 Essex car that transported us to the Kenneth Cup in CHCH. and also the athletic meetings in Central Otago over the Christmas / New year competitions.
When Frank did his country service in Ranfurly in a cold Central Otago winter he told me of being in his hotel room swotting and it being so cold that he had a two bar heater on and wearing his overcoat and was so close to the heater that his overcoat caught on fire.
We kept up our friendship right through to our last telephone call in 2022.
Go to this new challenge Frank and bowl them over.
Goodbye Frank.
