Evelyn SCHWASS Obituary

On Friday, November 29, 2024, our beloved Ev passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family. Daughter of Mahirini Wiari Poni Paul Kiki Kahukura and Jesse Panatahi Wanahi Wallace, sister to eight siblings, including Joyce who has been at Ev's side this year with unconditional love and support. A dearly loved wife of Gary for 62 years, deeply cherished and adored mother and mother-in-law of Lynette and John Mcfadden, Elise and the late Robert Schwass. Adored grandmother/Nan of Harry, Louis, Tuscany and Coco. Hugely loved Aunty of her many nephews and nieces, great friend, work colleague, and the first to be there when you needed support, kindness, a non-judgmental ear, meals or time. The maker of the very best club sandwiches. A Giver, with an enormous heart, creative and capable. Never wanting recognition, but the absolute glue in her family.

The funeral service for Evelyn will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Wednesday, December 4, at 10.00am, followed by interment at Belfast Cemetery. Evelyn will be at home, prior to the service.
