Evelyn CRAYTHORNE Obituary

On Friday, April 18, 2025, peacefully at Christchurch Hospital; aged 88 years. Loved wife of Neale, much loved mother of Roger and Toni, step-mother of Karl, Debra, Jacqueline and Alan, loved grandmother of Emma and great-grandmother of Tayla, beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend of many. Messages to the Craythorne family, c/o PO Box 111-01, Christchurch 8443. A Celebration of Evelyn's life will be held in the Academy Funeral Services Chapel, 65 Main South Road, Upper Riccarton, on Saturday, April 26, at 11.00am.

So many wonderful memories of Evelyn as a Telephonist at CCEPB - she had a wonderful sense of humour and a knack of being able to "get out of difficult situations"! Her love of animals was also second to none!

My deepest sympathy to the family. I worked with Ev in the 90's and I will always remember her for her great love and kindness to animals. She would always go the extra mile to try and help lost or found dogs in Selwyn find their homes. Also remember her for her very quick wit! Fond memories of a lovely, kind lady.
