Eugene (Gene) J. Kalsch, age 66, a resident of McHenry, Illinois, passed away on March 27, 2025. He was born on June 13, 1958, in Waukegan to George and Joyce (nee Hallas) Kalsch.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 46 years, Kathy (nee Pendleton) Kalsch of McHenry; his children; Theresa (Gabriel) Wisland of Woodstock, Connie Kalsch (Josh Kerwin) of DeKalb, Jessica (Petar) Gyuzelev of Bull Valley, Michael Kalsch of McHenry, Anthony Kalsch of McHenry; his grandchildren; Lorelei, Theodora, and Evan Gyuzelev of Bull Valley, and his many brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Kalsch, Jr.; his mother, Joyce (nee Hallas) Kalsch, and his brother, George Kalsch III.
He had just retired from Snap On in Crystal Lake as a member of the Distribution team. He was always a family provider with jobs as a mechanic, quality control engineer, and various positions at Menards. He was involved in his children's lives through programs like Indian Princesses through the YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, school plays and concerts, and cheering from the stands at all the sporting events his children were a part of. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, cooking and baking, playing cards, gardening, woodworking, rock and roll music, attending car shows and swap meets, and working on his '67 VW Beetle whenever he could.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4th from 4-7 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr., McHenry, IL, 60050. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Saturday, April 5th from 10 AM to 11 AM at Colonial Funeral Home.
Interment will be on Monday, April 7th from 10 AM -11 AM at St. John's Catholic Church in the church cemetery. All are welcome who are able to attend.
