My sympathy to Ethnas family who shared her with so many sportspeople.Ethna was my Canterbury Country Netball coach. She made all the skirts in those days and even made one for my young daughter. Her infectious laugh constant smile and unique voice that could be heard around the courts will be forever remembered. She was a great coach who cared about her players beyond the game. Seeing her in my home town Akaroa was always preceded by hearing my name shouted across the street. Such a great personality who will be sadly missed. Yes Ethna I have my woolly singlet on today!!

Condolences Jo on the passing of your dear Mum. She was my first club netball coach and my first Canterbury rep team coach (5th & 6th Grade). I was fortunate enough to be in the first St Nichs team, coached by Ethna, to win the champs outright and see the delight on her face. She was a very special and remarkable person who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

My sincere condolances to Ethna's family. I had some good times (and other times) at the North Beach Tennis Club and it's hard to imagine the club without her. It is with much sadness to learn of Ethna's passing.

Sad to hear of Ethna's passing. Our thoughts are with her family at this time.
We first met Eth about 62 years ago when she was in Australia ( Gosford NSW ) involved in COLTS Cricket
(Under2 1 )
Actually Eth made the Wedding Dress for my Wife Jenny whilst she was here.
We had contact over the Decades.
