Eric POOLE Obituary

POOLE, Eric James:
On August 17, 2022, peacefully at WesleyCare with family by his side, aged 88 years. Dearly loved husband of Joan, loved father and father-in-law of Nicky and Maurice, Cindy and Bruce, and the late Martin, Greg and Lynda, and Mark and Anne. Loved Grandad of Zac and Jaimee, Natasha and Malcolm; Madelaine, and Claudia and Tin; Kate and Liam, James, and Gabrielle; and Georgie, loved Great-Grandad of Kayden, and Swayde. The family would like to thank Dr Mark Cohen and the staff of WesleyCare for their outstanding care of Eric. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Eric Poole, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In accordance with Eric's wishes, a Private Cremation has been held.

Eric, you share a special place in our hearts for the wonderful friendship we have enjoyed not only with you but also your family. We can look back with lovely memories of gatherings in our homes and at Akaroa, Hanmer and occasionally at Wanaka where you were a real celebrity Eric. Dinner parties and our Friday lunches were always memorable occasions, the latter, which I know George, Keith, Colin and Ross also enjoyed immensely, as were the years we spent together in Lions and playing bowls and golf. So this is goodbye to a very special friend and a great mate. With much love. John & Carol Calman

Dear Eric. Thank you for the wonderful smile you always had when we came in to talk with you. You always listened with great enthusiasm to stories of our home countries and of our children. And thank you for your stories of you life and travels with Joan. It was a blessing and inspiration to see you and Joan, what a great testament to the life you shared. GOD bless you.
