On February 16, 2025, peacefully at Christchurch Hospital; aged 83 years. Much loved husband of Gail, loved father and father-in-law of Maria and Steve, Peter and Tracie, Russell, Sheryl (deceased) and Nigel. Loved grandad of Tyler; Isabella, Taine, Mackenzie, and Kai; Alyssa; Scott, Sean, Michael, Nicole, Ashleigh, Troy, and Brooke. Loved great-grandad of his six great-grandchildren. The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to Dr Richard Newman, along with the staff at Riccarton Medical Centre, Christchurch Hospital, Burwood Hospital and Summerset Avonhead for their care of Eric. I'm shocked to hear of Eric's passing. We were in Supply Sqn at Ohakea when he was a Flying Officer. Later I had the chance to work with Eric at AWA in Porirua when we were both Purchasing Officers. He was a kind, down to earth, honest man. My condolences to the family and all who knew him. They just don't make them like that again. RIP Eric
