Enid GILLANDERS Obituary

On October 8, 2024, passed away peacefully in her 92nd year. Dearly loved daughter of the late George and May, loved sister of the late Cecily Wright, Bruce, Roger, and Keith. Loved aunty, great-aunty, and great-great-aunty. Sincere thanks to the Akaroa community for their care and support of Enid. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Enid Gillanders, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In accordance with Enid's wishes, a private service has been held.

I met Enid when I visited her with Ruth Ensor and her son, Paul. I very much enjoyed meeting her and seeing her garden. Her connection to it, to her community and her caring for the village impressed me. Peace to you Enid and thank you for sharing your garden and hospitality that day.
