Passed away peacefully on 18 March 2026, aged 90 years. Beloved wife of the late Cliff Harris. Dearly loved mother of Catherine Hughson and Paul Shirley and Rosemary and Matthew Fairmaid. Much loved grandmother of Julian and Angelia Fairmaid, Jackie and Nathan Cohen, Adam and Shirley Fairmaid, and Andy and Emma Hughson, and cherished great-grandmother. Gale and Cliff shared a special connection to the land and community of Kowhitirangi Valley, Hokitika. A life of grace and fortitude, remembered with love. In accordance with Gale's wishes, a private interment and gathering to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
