Elizabeth BEARD Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital on Monday, August 12, 2024, aged 91 years. Much loved wife of the late Ian MacGougan. Dearly loved by her children Tony and Andrea, her grandson Sam and daughter-in-law Anne. Also a much loved daughter-in-law of the late Reginald and Irene Beard. Loved sister of the late Frederick (Fred). Will be sadly missed by the extended family and friends in the UK and Ireland. Many thanks to the staff on Ward 16, Christchurch Hospital and Arvida St Albans for all their loving care of Elizabeth. Messages to the family of Elizabeth Beard, c/- 19 London Street, Christchurch 8013. In lieu of flowers donations to Barnardos New Zealand would be much appreciated and may be made online only via their website. A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held at the John Rhind Chapel, entry from London and Whitmore Streets, on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 10.00am, followed by a private cremation.

I am very sorry t hear of my cousin Elizabeth's passing. We had a reunion with Elizabeth and her husband Ian in Christchurch while to we were on holiday there. Elizabeth and Ian were so welcoming and kind. We reminisced for hours on her Irish family. It was so nice to finally meet her.
