Eleanor BURGESS Obituary

Aged 86 years. It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of Eleanor on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Christchurch Hospital. Eleanor was the dearly loved youngest daughter of Edgar and Dell Burgess (dec), and a very much loved sister of Rosaleen and Adrienne (dec). Cherished Auntie of Ngaere and Geoff, Erena and Tony, Andrea and Murray, and a very special Great-Aunt to her great-niece and nephews. Special thanks to the staff on Ward 8A, Christchurch Hospital and the wonderful staff at Anthony Wilding Retirement Village for their love, care and support of Eleanor. Eleanor's family would also like to express a very special thank you to Michael, Celia, Robyn and Eric who were with Eleanor when she passed and the loving support of Hoon Hay Presbyterian Church who were Eleanor's second family. A celebration of Eleanor's life will be held at Hoon Hay Presbyterian Church, 5 Downing Street, Hoon Hay, on Friday, March 28, at 1.00pm, followed by a private cremation.
