Eileen GREENWOOD Obituary

Peacefully at Radius Millstream, Ashburton on Monday, February 2, 2026. In her 103rd year. Loved and loving wife of the late Colin. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Neville and Dianne, Marilyn and David MacKenzie, Judith and Brian Fielder, Sheryl, and Peter and Nicki. Adored Nana to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr. Wootton, and Radius Millstream, Ashburton for the love and care they gave Eileen. Messages to the Greenwood family, c/- PO Box 6035, Ashburton 7742. Donations to the Friends of Ellesmere Hospital would be appreciated and may be made at the service. After a long-lived life we will celebrate and farewell Eileen at the Anglican Parish of St John The Evangelist Church, 68 High Street, Leeston on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 commencing at 1.30pm, followed by burial at the Ellesmere Cemetery.

My sympathies to you all. Eileen has left lots of wonderful memories for lots of people. She enjoyed her trips out on the Community bus wherever we went sharing many of her life's experiences and memories-- always with lots of fun and laughter . Such a very special lovely lady. Judith May.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Have great memories of both Colin and Eileen especially after golf parties at Mum and Dad's (Merle & Trevor Hamilton's) in Leeston. We were so lucky to have the privilege to grow up in a wonderful community where respect for our elders was a given and taught. I remember Eileen so well such an elegant lady. Sending you all so much love and remembering your amazing motther, mother in law, grandmother and great grandmother, Eileen. I have special memories of the fun she had at the balls we went to and many wonderful conversations over the years. A rich life well lived.
