Edwin died peacefully on April 27, 2024. Loved youngest child of Thomas and Adeline Smallridge (deceased) and loved sibling of Harry, Margaret, Bernie, Win, Reg, Ron, Pat and Freddie (all deceased). A caring and loved father to his children, Sharon and Russell (both deceased). Edwin is survived by his remaining children Gary, Maria and Rebecca. Also a much loved Grandad and great-Grandad, and loved longtime friend (and ex) of Madeleine. A memorial service to celebrate Edwin's life will be held at the Rangiora RSA, Victoria Street, Rangiora, on Wednesday, May 1 at 2.00pm. Messages for the family c/- Madeleine: [email protected]
The family are grateful to the Chatswood Retirement Village staff for their care of Edwin.

I am devasted by the loss of Uncle Eddie as he was the last of the second generation born in NZ, across all branches of the Smallridge clan. I am pleased to have had spent some time with him over the past few years and he will be missed.
A big thank you to Madeleine who has always been by his side and condolences to all the family.

To the Smallridge family, my sincere sympathy. Eddie got me a job in the Casings dept at Pareora Freezing Works in 1976. I never forgot that. He was always quite witty, farewell Eddie

My last Uncle has passed. So many wonderful memories whether peddling for Timaru Cash Cycling or sounding like Harry Belafont when he sung.
