'The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold & Silver Rays' (Japan)
Passed away in the company of family Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Christchurch Hospital, aged 84. Formerly Newton Dodge Blinds, Christchurch City Council, Baptist Church Leadership, and Ferrymead Heritage Park. Husband of Ailsa (nee McKenzie) for 60 years; Father and father-in-law of Manda and Grant Hill, Craig and Jenny Dodge-Chao; Grandad to Tamara and Dennis, Emma, Amber, Blake and Victor. Brother and brother-in-law to Peter and Joy Dodge, Janet and John Armitage, David and Glenise Dodge, Ian and Jill Dodge, Helen and Bill Graydon, Esther and Martin McKendrick, and Anne Dodge. A Celebration of Life service will be held at St Albans Baptist Church, 64 McFaddens Road, St Albans, Christchurch, at 2.00pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. At Newton's request in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St John Ambulance (Hato Hone), Christchurch. Messages to [email protected]
