Edward GORMAN Obituary

On Saturday, September 14, 2024, aged 89 years, at home in Dubai, after a long and adventurous life, Ted peacefully passed away. Ted was surrounded by family and comforted at his bedside by the hand of Irene Gorman, his beloved wife of 62 years. A Warrant Officer Class Two, member of both the 2nd New Zealand Regiment and 1st Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment. Ted was a dedicated soldier for over 20 years and his departure leaves an open void in the hearts of many. Cherished forever in the heart of his wife Irene Gorman. Beloved father of Mark, Joe-anne, and Fiona, and respected father-in-law of Adam. Adored grandfather of Robert and Jessika, Anthony and Whitney, Sophia; Bradley, Jordan, Zachary and Alex, Taylor and Greer; Jessica and Cillian, Harry, Phoenix, and Lazarus. Great-grandfather of Ollie, Seline, Benson, Eadie, Taylor, Maddison, Kyi, Elsa, Elena, and Raffaela. Dearly loved son of the late George and Ethel Gorman, and one of eight siblings. Our heartfelt thanks to all the kind and loving doctors, nurses and caregivers who have assisted Ted with dementia over the past four years. The funeral service for Ted will be held in All Saints Chapel, Burnham Military Camp, on Wednesday, September 25, at 1.30pm, followed by a private cremation on Thursday.
