Ed was born on April 4, 1952, in Ventura, California to Robert Anton Brendler and Rose Anne (Wilson) Brendler. As he grew older, Ed moved to Denver, Colorado and then to Olympia, Washington, where he spent 20+ years as a resident.

Ed worked in IT, including management, from 1975-2004. He worked for a number of companies including Lockheed Martin and Tricare Insurance. He then shifted gears and returned to Evergreen State College in Olympia with the goal of ultimately working as a Counselor/Psychologist.

Ed graduated from Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA with a BA in Liberal Arts (2007) and MA in Psychology (2012). He then graduated from Antioch University in Seattle, WA with a PsyD Clinical Psychology Degree (2017).

Ed was a kind, funny and smart man who was generous of spirit with his community and clients. He enjoyed working with clients, reading, cooking, and spending time with his friends. He was a member of the American Psychological Association and was active in the Deschutes Psychological Association and International Trauma Treatment.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind sisters Sarah Brendler (Rob Lilley), Mary Buckner (James Buckner) and Anna Brendler.

The family will be doing a virtual service for Edward at a later date, yet to be determined. Any donations can be made to outreach.faith (James Martin S.J.) per family's request.

Every day I miss Ed. I miss our long meandering phone calls. Thank you so much for this obituary. He loved his sisters. You were all so good to him. Ed and I worked together starting circa 1978, became immediate friends, found we had a much loved mutual friend, worked together off and on, had a terrific trip through Wales, visited each other when we were in cities far apart. Will be happy to help in any way for a virtural service (which I HOPE if not missed by now!)
