Was drawn to port in the weekend and sought out the Ida Marion.
Thinking of you Eddie

Eddie took me out on the Ida Marion for a couple of trips in the mid 90's. I really enjoyed those trips and recall them often. I didn't end up being a fisherman but am a Coastguard Skipper. Hearing the MAYDAY relay, knowing it was Eddie and him being too far away was dreadful. My thoughts to all who know him. He was a good man and is missed.

Be brave my friend, today will b a long journey. You are not alone as your family and friends are with you . Cling to those precious memories of your dad, never let them go - they will b with you forever ??

Eddie was my first boss as a boy of 15. I hold much respect for the man. will always remember him as a top man and one of Lyttelton's top fisherman. RIP

There will be an empty chair at the holiday table this year, but it will be filled with loving memories.

There are no words to express the loss of such a top man,,RIP Eddie xx

Edward Ernest (Eddie):
On November 16, 2014, as a result of an accident at sea. Dearly loved son-in-law of Fem Paap and the late Wim Paap, brother-in-law of Hanny, Johanna and John, Gerard and Jane, and loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. He will be very sadly missed.
