Edric WAIT Obituary

I would like to add my condolences to Peter`s family on behalf of former members of the young man´s service club Round Table. Peter was one of the six foundation members of Christchurch Round Table No1 in 1953. The movement was started in England after the carnage of World War 1 as a vehicle to bring together young men from all walks of life to provide service to their community and foster international understanding. The movement spread throughout New Zealand thanks to the work of the pioneers like Peter.
It didn´t survive the social and economic change of the last two decades of the 20th century and something of voluntary community significance was lost.
