To Iris and family, we are saddened to hear of Earle´s passing, and sorry we can´t be with you to celebrate his life as we are currently overseas.
His contributions to pharmacy were outstanding and he helped me many times.
On the golf course we enjoyed many great times together.
Thinking of you all today and deepest sympathy.

A mighty totara has fallen.

We are very sad to hear that Earle has passed away. He was a colleague, a friend and a mentor to many pharmacists of our generation and had a hand in guiding some of us to follow his footsteps into positions of leadership. His wisdom and keen sense of humour will be greatly missed.

We so sorry that due to an overseas trip we cannot be there on Friday to share memories of a wonderful human being.

Deepest sympathy to Iris and family.

I was sorry to hear of Earles passing too. My experience of Earle was that he was a remarkable community man and a very caring pharmacist. He was not only a leader in his industry but also showed professionalism in everything he did. As a younger pharmacist, I enjoyed his sense of humour and straight forward approach. His Union St Pharmacy team very exceptionally local to him because of his mana.
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grieving of him.
Warm regards, Carolyn

I was sad to hear of Earle's passing.
I have fond childhood memories of sharing barbecues and celebrations with Earle (known to me as Mr Shaw back then), Iris (Mrs Shaw) and their children in the 1970s and 80s as part of a group of six Christchurch families connected by pharmacist fathers. A few decades later, I was pleased to spend time with and learn from Earle professionally as we updated a national resource to support dispensing in pharmacies across the country - just one of the many things Earle did as a leader in the pharmacy profession (his FPS - Fellowship of Pharmaceutical Society of NZ - was very well deserved). My thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
