My deepest sympathies. Mr Rowe was a wonderful teacher at Burnside High School. I was there the year we put on Westside Story and playing the part of Anita was such a learning curve. My main memory of him was his adaptability and creativity. RIP and love from Liz

At the Christchurch School of Music we are very sad to read of Peter´s passing. He was a dynamic conductor, teacher and mentor to so many of us as we progressed through the orchestras in our early careers. There are so many special memories.

I am so, so very sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful music teacher & HOD. Wonderful smile & twinkly eyes and always introduced wonderful classical music to sing that I'd never experienced before. I learnt so much.
Always so approachable & friendly, when I ran into him at events, even decades after I finished High School.
I'm so glad I got to be at Burnside High School studying music when he was HOD. He made it a wonderful place to be with so many happy memories. Thank you Peter/Mr Rowe

Deepest condolences from the staff and students of Burnside High School School on the loss of Peter, especially from the Music Department. We will continue to recognise, and now immortalise, Peter´s outstanding contribution to our school by awarding The Peter Rowe Cup annually to our top performing musician as they leave Year 13.
