An incredible teacher and person. His caring and sensitive nature endeared him to the pupils, parents and staff. Looking forward to another year, parents and pupils were quite forward in
voicing their wish that Mr.Doig would be their child's teacher.
He was highly respected as a teacher and person.
He left behind many pupils and parents with fond memories of having known Mr Doig.
He will be missed dearly by many people.
NB I found out of Duncan's passing from one of my son's in Australia (played rugby with Duncan), followed by my brother Mike. All our family admired this wonderful man!

To all of Duncan's family and innumerable friends, please accept our sincere condolences at such a sad time.
If I could find sufficient and adequate words to do justice to such a great man, I'm sure they would echo those of so many fellow friends and teammates.
You were the epitome of example, Dunc, so greatly loved and respected, and every shred so well earned.
There are so many who are better because of you - they will never all meet to share the full extent of your positive impact, but nobody can rest more peacefully knowing the contribution they have made.
Royce Hartland, on behalf of all the Hartland family.

An abiding memory of Duncan was him doing 100 press ups in the living room-ON HIS TOES- despite Parkinson´s. He was strong. He was determined. A racehorse. I´ve never seen anyone who could eat as much fruit- a trait inherited by his daughter, Olivia, my granddaughter. His commitment to his kids at school was remarkable: motivational, a role model. I´m glad he and Liv ( Olivia) had some personal time together very recently. He will be much missed. Condolences.

I am saddened to learn of Duncan's death, but pleased his suffering is now over. His memory for me is always united with the group of swimmers who trained and competed at the Ashburton Pool. Those were joyous, innocent days with fun and laughter intermixed with hard slog in the pool. Judith and family, I am sure you have many happy memories of Duncan on which to reflect at this time.

An exceptionally courageous gentle giant. Duncan, you are now free to swim, run, cycle, walk the dog, throw that ball about and climb those mountains. Love always to you, my magnificent friend.
