Douglas BURROWES Obituary

On Wednesday, February 26 2025, Doug passed away peacefully at the Southland Hospice, aged 74 years, surrounded by his loving family. Loving husband of Mary, dearly loved father of Sr Anna rsm, Rachael, and Sarah and Matthew Cruickshank. Loving grandfather to Louisa Cruickshank. Beloved brother of Paul and loved son of the late Ray and Hazel Burrowes and the late Clem and Cath Hickey, brother–in–law of the late Pat Hickey and Jan Hickey. Loved uncle of Rowan, Keith, Anthony, Michelle, and their families.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Ardwick Street, Gore, on Monday, March 3, at 11.00am, followed by interment at Charlton Park Cemetery, Bowmar Road, Gore. Rosary will be held in the church chapel on Sunday, March 2, at 6.00pm. Donations may be left at the service for Hospice Southland. Doug's family wish to acknowledge and thank Dr Adeeb Al Shadli and all the medical staff at the Winton Medical Services, also Dr Andrew Ure of Gore Medical Centre for his care of Doug.
