Dorothy Catherine:
On Wednesday, December 19, 2018, suddenly but peacefully, at Christchurch Hospital, aged 82 years. Dearly beloved wife of the late Jim, loved and treasured mother and mother-in-law of Mandy and Paul Burrows, Julie and Murray Hollings, Philip (deceased) and Ann, Kate and Dave McEwen, and loved nana and great-nana. Loved eldest sister and sister-in-law of Gwen and the late Ray Burnett, the late Jean and Kevin Walker, Pam and David Swann, Bill and Beverley Withers, Nanette Samuels, Beatrice and Ivan McQueen, and a loved friend to many. Messages may be addressed to the Family of the late Dorothy Mackay, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. The Service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held in Trinity Church, corner McLaughlins and Bangor Roads, Darfield, on Thursday, December 27, at 1.30pm. Private cremation thereafter.

So sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. She was a wonderful neighbour ,full of fun , stories and cups of tea. Even when she moved to her little flat I would see her as I ether started or finished work at the Primary School and she would wave out a cheery hello. Will be greatly missed by both Alida and Phil P

I'll never forget how Dorothy invited me for meals and to stay weekends when I was posted to teach at Lake Coleridge school in 1969. She made a very naive, city girl feel so welcome. Years later she invited my sons to enjoy stays in the country. Such a generous friend who always kept in touch. Will be greatly missed.

Was so sorry to told of Dorothy's passing ,have so many lovely memories of times as kids up at the farm with Jim ,Dorothy and family, the years have passed,but I'm so pleased that I took Cecilia and Dorothy out for lunch when I was last over from Sydney,we had such a lovely day.Rest in peace lovely lady. My thoughts are with you all at this truly sad time, Love Heather Fitch
