Dorothy JOHNSON Obituary

Passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026; aged 79 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Bill, adored and loved mum of Rachel and Nicola, and mother-in-law of Simon. Much loved Gran of Emma, Michael, and Georgia Neale; Jack, Harry, and Ben Blakemore. Eldest daughter of the late Bob and Marion Malthus, and cherished sister and sister-in-law and aunt of Kaye, Annie, Keith and their families. A service to celebrate Dot's life will be held at Aoraki Funeral Services Chapel, 160 Mountain View Road, Timaru, on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 1.30pm. A livestream of the service is available, please email [email protected] or call 03 6862148. Dearest Rachel, Nicola and families, my deepest condolences on the passing of Dot. We all have so many wonderful memories of Dot as she has been in our lives for as long as we can remember. She has always been a loyal loving friend to Sally and Ferg, her involvement and support has been as much appreciated.

Visited Dot on our last two road trips to South Island. She was always lots of fun and nothing was too much trouble. Even though she had not been very well over the last few years she still maintained a wonderful garden.

On behalf of the Benvenue Ladies Friendship Group, thank you Dot for your contributions to our friendship group over the years. Your knowledge of gardening was second to none and your dedication to our group over the years is very much appreciated as was your willingness to share plants and gardening hints to us. The walk group will miss you as we all will, thank you for your friendship and support. Our thoughts are with your family at this sad time. Rest in peace Dot.
