I have only just seen this message from Canberra and many memories came back though they are never far away. I do not know where any of you live now Ruth. Greg, Stephanie but I hope you remember me as I do you. So many memories of our lives together in Karamea - your mother was a trailblazer in many ways and wore her heart on her sleeve- - she was fun and such a good cook - so hardworking it was impossible to keep up but never really gave herself enough credit - lots of love Marion Le née Roderick

13 years ago, a knock at the door. A plate of scones, bacon and egg pie and a warm welcome to the neighbourhood, we knew then we were on to a winner. Dorrie was the best neighbour we could have wished for, but she was more than that, she became our friend. We went for lovely walks and talked about many things. We shared Pete, she was the other woman, when she needed something done in the garden Pete was only to happy to oblige. I used to say if he wasn't home in an hour I would come knocking. Sure enough I would find him enjoying Dorries home baking. It was a pleasure living next door to such a wonderful person, it was an honour to have known her, she will never be forgotten.
