As a result of a tragic accident on Anzac Day. Devoted husband and soulmate to Judi. Loved, admired and respected father and father-in-law to Cathrine and the late Hayden Baker (Christchurch), Sarah and Andrew Carr (Mayfield), the late Virginia Grant, Louise and Daniel Bowie (Makuri). Adored and cherished Grumps to Angus, Isabella, Maxwell, Ella, Tom, Olivia, Lucia, George, and Lucy. Son of the late Ian and Eleanor Grant, loved brother to Alan, Murray and Robyn. Master of Toss and the late Zeke. Messages to the Grant family PO Box 472, Ashburton 7740. A celebration of Don's life will be held at the Hotel Ashburton, Racecourse Road, on Thursday May 5, commencing at 11.00am, followed by private cremation at the Ashburton Crematorium.

My thoughts are with Dons Family today and have been since his passing. Many kind words have been said about Don from his work mates since that day. The most common being " He was a bloddy good bugger", and he was RIP Don

Absolutely shocked to hear of the tragic accident Judi.

Huge love to Dons family and I'm so so sorry for your loss. I spent many a night chatting with Don and he was a truly charming man - someone that was very hard not to like - an infectious chuckle and a twinkle in his eye that said he'd seen it all before, I feel lucky to have crossed paths with him and feel a better person for it. Sincere condolences to you Judi, Cath, Sarah and Lou. I have fond memories with Don, with dad duck shooting and Lambing on the farm as a little lass. Incredible chap will sorely be missed by all. Was a pleasure to have meet a really great guy.
