Greetings to the family of Dieter. I have just today discovered that Dieter has passed away. My most sincere love and condolences to you all, and I do pray that you all are strengthened by the love of God, with whom all souls rest. Dieter's passing comes as a great surprise to me as he was always such a strong man. I was searching Steinegg Chch as my husband and I are planning a trip to Chch where we knew Deiter and Sabina and the young children, who would have been too young to remember me now. We hoped for an overdue catchup, but sadly this cannot be so. However I can say, that I have many lovely memories of Dieter, and I shall remember him very fondly as a good friend and father.
In divine friendship

My thoughts are with Dieter's family.
Reading about his death makes me very sad.
I meet Dieter several times in the 80s and 90s as a karateka and trainer.
He is and will be a legend.

Dieter was my beloved Karate Mentor and Friend since 1986. Beside our mutual foundation of Karate Dojo Zanshin Göttingen we were over the Time in closed contact and had wonderful and inspiring discussions of political, Social and environmental themes. He was a peaceful Giant and my wife and I missing so much. Rest in Peace.

Good bye, Dieter. You were a wonderful and honest friend and one hell of a good Karateka!

A great friend since the day he arrived in New Zealand. A man I admired for his loyalty, intellect, martial arts skills, discipline, and deep understanding of human nature. His love for nature guided him throughout his life and he dedicated himself to making the world a better place for all. A proud father and great friend to many. I will miss you my friend.
