Dear Katherine and Sarah. You did your mother proud today. She was a magical woman who I had the privilege of working with in the 80's at Catholic Social Services. Allthe tributes to her were amazing. Thinking of you all

Di and I met as 29 year-old kindy mothers, and have been close friends from that day to this. I treasure our friendship through the lows and the highs. I treasure your bravery, compassion, and commitment to peace. I especially grieve for your girls and their loss. With love everlasting.

I had hoped to make the journey again to see you after your generosity and love you showed me 12 years ago when you look me under your wing as a young graduate. I always called you my nz granny. I'll never forget the kindness and hospitality you showed me. I loved your annual letters, I hope you knew I thought of you and Bill often. I wish i could be there for your celebration of life. You taught me so much in such a short space of time. Big hugs, Love Alison (all the way from rainy UK) x

Farewell Di - dynamic, animated, articulate and loving longtime friend, book lover, great cook, lover of plants and brilliant garden expert. Love to Katherine and Sarah who have lost such an engaged and engaging mother, and to Jack and other members of the family who will miss her so much. This is a photo of Di at a Christmas Eve gathering at my place in Dec 2022. It captures her lively way of being in the world. That intense look and the smile that lit up her face was still there when I last saw her a few weeks ago. Rosemary

Remembering generous, funny, poignant times together during many occasions over many years. Remembering Di's enthusiasm for plants and her willingness to share her knowledge through her columns in The Press, articles in NZ Gardener, and guided tours in the Botanic Gardens and throughout China. I will miss you dear friend and so would WR Sykes if he were here to say so - yours and Bill Willmott's best man. Often you used to quote Julian of Norwich to us, " And all will be well", "all manner of things shall be well". I hear your younger voice now as I remember these words. Thank you for friendship and pleasure, good advice and many a hot dinner xx

Miss you gorgeous Di, your love of people and your genuine interest in their stories was inspiring. Always interesting to talk with, and always meeting new friends wherever you went. Love to you and Bill, I am sad you are gone and hope you´re together somewhere.
