No body gave more of themselves to Merivale Rugby than Des Gibbard. Junior club captain, senior club captain and highly respected Club President.
Des had an amazing ability to get alongside players and members of all ages. I remember one day a youngster of around 8 years saying "hi ya Mr Gibbard " Des stopped and had a chat , encouraging the young fella .That was Des, it was my absolute privelage to work alongside Des for many years, to you Des from every player, ex players coaches and members Thank You, you've done your very best now rest easy.
