On September 18, 2025, at Arvida Ilam, aged 96 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Pauline. Loved and cherished father of Dee, and her partner Patrick. Our sincere thanks to the Arvida Ilam team, for their exceptional care and support. A private burial has taken place. Hello Deirdre. Its Joan Tolmie here and I am so sorry to see your Dad has gone. He was an amazing age. I remember him well and he was always so kind and considerate. In 1975 your Dad recorded my wedding to Bernie and you were my flower girl. Bernie died in April 2015. We were married 40 years. My deepest condolences to all the family. Des was a great part of my life when he trained me as a projectionist in 1962 at the Avon theatre in Christchurch
I can remember when he met and married his loverly wife Pauline, and built his house. He would go and buy taps for the house I would be sent to pick them up
And his great interst in Radio . And let's not forget the toasted sandwich from the Danty inn and the burgers from Bowies .Rest in peace Des I have great memories of you
