Derek NEAL Obituary

Derek passed away peacefully at home after a short illness, on August 14, 2024, aged 52 years. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Paula, and the late Jane-Marie, respected Dad of Sam, and Jackson, and stepdad of Samuel, Grace, Josh, and Tom. Treasured son and son-in-law of Dorothy and the late Bob, Dennis and Lyn, brother and brother-in-law of Stu and Andie (Hamilton), Tracy and Greg, Donna and Brad, and a much adored, hard-case friend and workmate of many. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Derek Neal, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A memorial service to celebrate Derek's life will be held at the Sumner Surf Life Saving Club, 301 Main Road, Sumner, on Tuesday, August 20 at 1.30pm.

Derek, thank you for being such a great friend to so many. Among other things, thank you for finding the time to catch up when I was in town over the last few, difficult, years. My thoughts are with Paula and all of your family and friends.

To Paula and all family, so very sad to hear of Derek's passing, we go back a long way (pre - 1997) car yard days (Lifestyle Autos / Finance and Discounts, then again 2011 Canterbury Earthquake era. Always loved hearing of his race car progress and followed house renovations. So sorry to hear of this loss.
