Derek MOIR Obituary

As a shock to us all, Derek passed away at Christchurch Hospital, on March 22, 2024, aged 82 years. Cherished husband and soulmate of Margaret for 60 years, special dad of Glenn, and Tracey, and father-in-law of Nicki, and Adrian, much loved Poppa of Cam, Jamie, Britt, and Isaac, brother and brother-in-law of Judy and Henry, and Christine and the late David. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue would be appreciated and may be made online at airrescue.co.nz/donate/.
A service to celebrate and remember Derek's life will be held in our Oaklands Chapel, corner Halswell Junction and Wigram Roads, Halswell, on Wednesday, March 27, at 2.30pm, followed by a private cremation.

Derek, the Man, the myth, the legend. I will miss catching up with you at our "weight watchers" meetings. We solved the problems of the world and talked endlessly about food and how we would be good next week. You inspired me to garden and was just a truly amazing person. I don't think I will be able to go back to our group catch ups without you there. I only new you for such a small period of time so can't imagine how hard it is for your family. Just a bloody legend.
