On Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Christchurch Hospital, in his 93rd year with family by his side. Dearly loved husband of the late Joan, loved Father and Father-in-law of Louise and Shane, Stephen (deceased), John and Alison, Joanne, Philip and Becky, Colleen and Aiden, loved Pop of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Juliet and the late Tony Welch, and brother-in-law of Maria and Keith Jenkins, and his nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate Derek's life will be held in the John Rhind Chapel, entrance from London and Whitmore Streets, Richmond, Christchurch, on Saturday, January 27, at 10.00am.
