Deirdre NELSON Obituary

(Holy Faith Sisters) Died peacefully on June 8, 2025, in the loving care of the staff at Diana Isaac Retirement Village, Christchurch, late of Christchurch, Canberra and Auckland. Formerly of Christchurch, she is predeceased by her parents Gertrude and Albert, her sister Fay, her brothers Paul, Philip and Roger. She will be sadly missed by her Holy Faith sisters, her sister-in-law Maureen Nelson, her nephew Peter and Mary, her niece Jane, and Grand Aunt of Julia, Brian, Adam, Kate and Ronan. Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Sr. Deirdre, at St Mary's Pro Cathedral, Manchester Street, Christchurch, on Monday, June 16, at 10.30am, followed by burial at Ruru Lawn Cemetery.

I would just like to say that I remember Sister D as we called her at the Cancer Society for all her tireless volunteering driving patients to treatment and on many Daffodil Days in the kitchen preparing food for all those collecting for us. A truly lovely lady with an tremendous sense of humour - good memories .
