Dean TUHAKA Obituary

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at home unexpectedly, but peacefully, aged 58 years. Loved partner and best mate of Diann and her family, brother of Stephen, Thomas, Janine, and their families, will be sadly missed by colleagues and friends. A big thank you to all the people who helped and supported Dean since his traumatic brain injury. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Dean Tuhaka, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In lieu of flowers, donations to KidsCan would be appreciated, and may be made online at kidscan.org.nz. The funeral service in celebration of Dean's life will be held at Halswell Rugby League clubrooms, Halswell Domain, on Thursday, August 14, at 10.30am. A memorial get-together will be held at his home in Queenstown, on Tuesday, August 19, from 10.00am.

Dear Di and Family,
Our heartfelt condolences on losing Dean. While we have only known Dean for a short time, he was larger than life. He made us feel so welcome to the neighbourhood. We loved his stories and his willingness to offer advice and always there to help. We will miss him sadly and his infectious laugh and sense of humour. Our hearts go out to you in this very sad time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
