David STONE Obituary

On October 31, 2024, peacefully at Lady Wigram Retirement Village, in his 95th year. Dearly loved son of the late William and Myrtle Stone, loved brother and brother-in-law of the late Alan and Marjorie, and Enid and Tom Richards. Much loved uncle of Duncan, Geoffrey, Michael, Rosemary, and Peri, and a treasured great-uncle. Special thanks to all those who contributed so much to David's wellbeing and comfort throughout his life. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late David Stone, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. Flowers respectfully declined. The memorial service for David will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Wednesday, November 13, at 2.00pm.

David Stone has for many many years been an important figure for the Wells Family - we respect and often reflect on David's selfless contribution - and talk about it as a powerful lesson for us all, in terms of what we can achieve, without lots of resources when; focused, ambitious and tenacious. David, rest in peace, knowing that you have left an ethical, multi-generational legacy; that we respect, are grateful for, and are very proud of - thank you for your enduring contribution - The Wells Family.

We got to know David while living in Hanmer Springs
A lovely man who over many years enjoyed the outdoors and mountains. Enjoyed listening to his stories when speaking at probus meetings there.
