Sorry to hear of Harley's passing , he was a dear friend of my grandfather Pedro. And I spent many summers with him fishing and watching him cook fish in rhe Marlborough sounds at my grandfathers holiday home. I remember him from when I was a small child and met all of his 3 wives and all of his children.
He was a brilliant fisherman and a wonderful cook, as I wrote to my father today, he always cooked with a glass of wine in his hand!! I'll hold up a glass tonight!!

I'm so sorry I have just read of Harleys passing. Flatted with Harley around 1964=65 where he taught me the finer point of guitar. He was at that time one of the top jazz players in the country. Because of him I myself became a guitar teacher through the 80s and early 90s. Wife, children and Grandchildren can be proud of him. The last times I have seen him, he turned up at a Jam I ran at the Civic Bar (Graham Cooper also turned up so they had a Jam together.) and then at Grahams funeral. All the best to the family.

I knew Harley through playing golf with him at Richmond Hill GC and also as a work colleague at Aetna Insurance Co. He was a good person and a very good muso. I am sad at his passing and my thoughts go out to his family at this time.
