David SCHUMACHER Obituary

Passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025 with Cheryl and Jo beside him at Christchurch Hospital. Very loved partner and treasured friend of Cheryl Judson, and adored Dad of Joanne (Jo), Aaron, Lyndsay and Fleur Judson, Kellie and Dave Barron, and the late John and Paul. The best grandad ever to Hayden, Jessica and Ash, Devon, Ryan and Erin, Brandon, Corey and Nicole, Cody and Natalia, Liam and Carly, Jamie, Jack, Laykin, Ben and Danni, and Maddi, and his 11 great-grandchildren. Much loved father-in-law to Yvonne and Michelle.

Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear."

In accordance with David's wishes, a private cremation has taken place. Cards and messages to: The Family of David Schumacher, PO Box 263, Kaiapoi 7644.

Dad, your love has always been my strength and my safe place. Although you're no longer here, your laughter and terrible jokes will still echo through our memories, your wise words will continue to guide us, and your irreplaceable spirit will live on in every step I take. Thank you for everything. You were my hero, my rock, and I miss you more than words can say. I started out in this life with you holding my hand, and I was so privileged to hold yours as your journey came to an end.
