David SAUNDERS Obituary

I have been playing words with friends with David for many years. I noticed his absence recently and wondered what happened. I live in the US and I told him I was planning a cruise to NZ in 2027. He said he would meet my husband and I and show us around. He seemed like a very nice person. I will miss his friendship.

David, I am very saddened to hear of your passing. I am so grateful that we had a chance to catch up when I came back August last year. You had always been kind to me and to my daughter, Marina. For that, I thank you. Rest in peace David.

I am so sad and shocked to hear of David's passing. It was much too soon, he still had so much life to live. David was such an important part of the club and his presence will be greatly missed. He has left a hole impossible to fill. Much love and strength to Donna and family at this time of great adjustment. David, may you rest in peace. xoxox

Sincere condolences to the family, especially Donna. David was committed to a fair justice system. Having worked with him as a colleague on the Parole Board and as a Police Prosecutor years earlier I came to know and admire him tremendously. May he rest in peace.

Friend of David and Donna for a lot of years and while often good things said about people at this time, the ones about David are true. He was a kind, always friendly and caring man. Am very sad to see he has passed. The photos hard to look at as they are so typical of the looks, mannerisms of how I will remember him. ed

You were a very special person David. You had an especially warm, caring and well balanced manner about you. I learned a lot from you when discussing pre sentence reports I had written in my role as a Probation Officer (now retired), in Christchurch.

Finding out this sad news that you had passed away broke our hearts. You have been such a special person in our lives especially for our family growing up and having you by our side. I'll always remember my time with you as a young child through to adulthood. Your words of wisdom, advice and guidance will never be forgotten!! I'm grateful that I had the chance to see you on New Years Eve and give you the biggest hug, these memories will last forever. We first met at the 1990 Commonwealth Law Conference when I was trying to migrate to NZ from the UK. He helped me immensely many times since and we even sat together at NSDC on a couple of occasions. He will be very sadly missed
