David McFERRAN Obituary

Passed away at 0200hrs on May 30, 2024, peacefully in his sleep. Loved husband of the late Joyce McFerran, precious and cherished father of Donna McFerran, Kay and Darren Findlay, and the late Lisa Sukkar, fondly regarded stepdad of Lyndene, and Jeremy O'Dowd, Peter and Lea Hutson, much loved Granddad of Daniel and Kayla, Warwick and Sarah, Jasmin, Olivia, George, Isaac and Daniel; Pax, and Jesse, Mitchell, Liam, and Amber, loved great-grandfather to all his great-grandchildren. Much loved brother of Eric and Helen McFerran, loved uncle to his nieces and nephews, Sam and Lauren, Vicky and Greg, Sharon and Stephen, Donald and Tania, and their families.


'May Dad rest in peace with family'.


Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Alpine View Rest Care Centre, who were like family to David. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late David McFerran, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

80 years of brotherhood leave fond memories. David always full of physical energy and an alert mind up to the end made the most of each day. His wife Joyce brought so much joy and love into his life. His kind and loving daughter Donna made these last few years possible to enjoy outside friendships and day trips to enjoy the beauty of Christchurch where he lived his life.
His love of Scotland and the ascent of Ben Nevis which we shared was a lasting memory. His Christian faith and helping others was a large part of his character. Rest in peace brother. I love you.

RIP Dad ,You were the most wonderful dad a daughter could ever have over years & that loss can never be replaced.
Our precious father and daughter time last few years was so important to us both and I will miss the outings togther that we had.
Dad you will be missed .
You can rest & enjoy peace now with the family & ancesters in heaven.
