David KENNEDY Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we mourn the passing of our dearly loved brother David who passed away at home on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Treasured and adored first child of Ruth (aged 93), Ashford Care Home and the late Douglas Kennedy. Deeply loved brother of Craig, and uncle to Rebecca, Steven and Sarah. Brother and brother-in-law to Adrian and Comine. Uncle to Ross and Anna, Ian and Sally and Erin Kennedy. You have left a wonderful legacy for us all to aspire to, David. Adored big brother of Vivienne and late husband Stuart Hewson, and uncle to Robbie and Stacey. Big brother and brother-in-law to Andrew and Carmel, and dearly loved and respected uncle to Anna and Thomas Kennedy. So many cherished memories, you'll be sadly missed. David's legacy of kindness, strength and dedication will live forever in our hearts. A much loved son and brother who will never be forgotten.

David was around in my class several years at Hornby primary ,then at Riccarton High.6A. Kennedys were a well known Hornby/Hei Hei family.Dave has done well and was a great rugby player.Sorry that illness called time on his days, but he did pass the 3 score years and 10. Condolences to all the family.

The Riccarton High School First XV of 1968 are saddened by the loss of our Captain David Kennedy, a truly special rugby player and leader who left an indelible mark on our school community and teammates . Rest in peace David, your spirit will live on in our hearts and we will continue to celebrate your life through the countless memories and victories we shared with you. Condolences to all the Kennedy family, we are thinking of you at this very sad time.
