David HUNT Obituary

HUNT, David Neil (Honey):
On August 15, 2020 at Ashburton Hospital after a short illness, aged 63 years. Dearly loved son of the late Henry and Ngaire. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Robin and Iain Tuanui, Gavin and Annette, Julie MacKenzie and John Roseveor, Lynda and Simon Hadfield, Colin and Chiyo, and Peter. Loved and respected by all his nieces and nephews. Many thanks to Dr Penny Holdaway, Cancer Society, staff at Ward 1 Ashburton Hospital and his Hakatere family. Messages to the Hunt Family, C/- PO Box 472, Ashburton 7740. A service to celebrate Dave's life will be held in Our Chapel, cnr East and Cox Street, Ashburton, on Thursday, August 20, commencing at 2.00pm, followed by interment at the Ashburton New Lawn Cemetery. Due to Level 2 restrictions, attendance at the service is limited to 100 people, please keep this in mind if you wish to attend.

Honey so much loved so greatly missed
You have been part of my world for over 50 years honey . Good m8 at school , fell deeply in love with my lil sister Jo. Always watching over our baby sis Kerry.
Was a huge part of my family. Was a son to my mum an dad they loved him dearly.
I carry my memories in my heart honey forever.

Honey - my only brother from another mother you will always forever have a piece of my heart Honey - so many memories to hold - the one that comes to mind is our road trip to Takaka - first time driving a furniture truck for me shifting my uncle and Aunt - we had some laughs some stress and a few mistakes where make by me but Honey was right beside me with his box of double brown - ready to jump - through out the trip from Ashburton to Takaka with his encouraging words huge smile and kind words - never forget you Honey in my heart forever xox

I have known Honey since he was 15yrs old and in the 70s he used to bring his car he was fixing up. Changed gears with a screw driver and you could see the road through the floor. His latest was a corvette, Honey and Beedle juice the dog came to show us. Definitely not like his old ones!
Honey will be so sadly missed. Sincere condolences to his family. Jill and Don.
