On October 21, 2024, peacefully at Malvina Major Hospital, Wellington, aged 76 years. Dearly loved husband of Noeline (nee Butterfield) for 53 years. Much loved father and father-in-law of Gabrielle and Hamish Nicholson (Wellington) and Jonnie and Jacque Halstead (Seattle USA). Proud and loved Grandad of Rocco, Chevy and Anise Halstead, and Jimmy and Alice Nicholson. Dearly loved by the Butterfield family, Shona, Shirley and the late Joe and Barbara Butterfield. David is the son of the late Dr Charles and Paddy Halstead of Timaru, brother to the late Richard Halstead, and Wendy Low, loved brother-in-law of Graeme Low. A dearly loved uncle to his nieces and nephews. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late David Halstead, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A private cremation has been held. A memorial service for David will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Thursday, November 14, at 2.00pm.
